I’m so tired, I
whined thought to myself.
The little boys were fighting, the dog and cat were fighting, and the big kids and I *had* been fighting. I was curled up (read: hiding) in a blanket on the couch, wishing the Starbucks delivery guy would bring me a pumpkin spice latte.
I kept wishing and wishing for a coffee. And getting grumpier by the minute.
WHY hasn’t Starbucks come up with a delivery system, for peter’s sake?
On days like today (are you guys as tired as I am, by the time Friday rolls around and shows her pretty little face?), what would you give to have a piping hot coffee delivered to your door? Ding dong. “Here’s your latte, Mrs. Traster. Have a nice day.”
I think I would cry a river of happy tears.
I thought you might be in the same boat today. You know. Whiny and feeling sorry for yourself as you stare at the seven baskets of laundry in front of you that need folded. HERE’S WHAT WE NEED, GIRLS: A Starbucks delivery truck and a mobile laundry-folding-service in one.
Now that right there would be a gold mine.
Or. You can get your head out of the clouds, be thankful for the chaos (because, really, you’ve got it so good), and then get happy.
But first, make this syrup and add it to your regular drip coffee. Because that will equal even more happiness. You can even get extra fancy and pour 2 oz. of this syrup over a shot of espresso (or strong coffee), then top with steamed milk. Yummmmms.
Don’t have any pumpkin pie spice? I bet you have the ingredients in your pantry to make it yourself. It’s easy peasy.
And speaking of pumpkin pie spice, I rounded up some mouth-watering recipes for us…
Pumpkin Pie Oatmeal – crockpot breakfast for the win!
And last, but not least…
I want to try this Pumpkin Pie recipe (she adds candied yams to intensify the pumpkin flavor).
Thanksgiving is upon us, friends. My stretchy pants have to be here (in one of these this laundry baskets) somewhere. 😉
