FAQ

  • What makes you different?

Easy peasy.  That’s what a photo shoot with Christi is all about.  We make it a downright easy and snazzy experience from start to finish.  From your pre-session consult, all the way to the delivery of your art pieces, it’s just easy.  Like peasy.  Or weezy.

You can call it a play date.  You can call it an adventure.  You can call it a ton o’ fun.  We play.  We eat cheerios.  We might even get a little dirty.  It’s pretty simple actually.  I love families.  And I’m passionate about taking photos and turning them into art. So, we’ll watch the love between your family unfold – and then I’ll take it, and turn it into art for you to love and cherish for always.  Sounds great, doesn’t it?  It is.

  • What’s included in the session fee?

A pre-session portrait consultation, travel in the Cincinnati and Dayton regions, 2-3 hours of shooting time, editing time, a blog session preview and a personal presentation/ordering session – all one-on-one with Christi.

  • Do you offer packages?  Tell me a little about them…

Oh yes.  The collections.  They’re fab.  They’re fine.  They’re foxy.  Not only do they each include digital images on CD… but each collection also includes a perfectly sublime (sigh… swoon…) album. Ooooh yes – the collections are that fabulous, and they’re priced from $1200.  And we even make paying for your portraits simple; we accept check or credit card, and any collection purchase qualifies for our payment plan.  Pretty nifty, right?

  • Your minimum purchase is $500.  What can I expect to spend beyond that?

That is completely up to you.  Some Moms choose to spend less and purchase a la carte prints, while others spend significantly more.  We’ll take your budget, whether big or small, and find something that works for you.  The average client purchases a collection, which includes our most popular and “asked for” offerings (i.e. digital images on CD, albums, etc).  Our collections are priced from $1200 to $2800.

  • Can I buy the digital files, pretty please?

Absolutely.  New for 2010 —> The collections all include digital files for your printing pleasure.  If you opt to fore-go a collection and purchase a la carte prints, individual files are available for purchase.

  • Where will we do the photo shoot?

Most families prefer to have the photo shoot take place in their home, while some families want to hit the road for an urban session downtown.  We can romp around in your back yard; we can go to a park; we can find some funky places to create some funky and fun images.  It’s all up to you.  You call the shots.

  • What if my home/yard/hair/weight isn’t perfect?  Should I wait to do photos?

Don’t wait.  If not for yourself, do it for your children.  Another photographer said it perfectly here.

“Is there ever a perfect time to have photographs taken of your family?

It’s so easy to say –

I’m too fat.
I have too much going on.
We’re too busy.
Maybe next year.

But in 20 years, our children are not going to say,

I really love this photo of my family, but I wish my mom had waited until she lost some weight…”

Listen, lovely little lady, you could wear yoga pants and a beanie on your head, and it wouldn’t matter (well, maybe you should skip the beanie).  All I care about is capturing the love between your family.  That’s it.  Perfectly imperfect.  That’s what I’m after.  Real life.

  • When should we schedule photos of my newborn?

The best time to do a newborn session is in the first week of life.  They tend to sleep more soundly, curl up in all of their lip-smacking squishiness, and not really be bothered at all.  Also, newborn acne starts to kick in around 3 weeks of age, so a session between birth and 2 weeks is recommended.  It’s best to call me before the birth of your baby, and we can pencil you into my schedule.  After your baby arrives, you will want to call and confirm your session date and time.

  • When is the best time to schedule maternity photos?

The best time to do a maternity session is usually somewhere between 30-36 weeks – but, I will be happy to do them at any pregnancy stage that feels right to you.
